My Autumn Essentials

“After all, seasons change, so do cities; people come into your life and people go. But it’s comforting to know that the ones you love are always in your heart. And if you’re very lucky a plane ride away.”

– Carrie Bradshaw

Now that we have officially entered fall, it feels like the perfect time to cultivate — or even implement — a seasonal lifestyle menu crafted just for you. Things that make you feel cozy, comfortable, inspired, and empowered during this new season.

Because sometimes, the change in weather and the earlier sunsets can leave us feeling a little mundane as the day winds down, even when there is still so much more to enjoy. Having small trinkets, rituals, or comforts to look forward to can help you maintain a sense of excitement and intention, even as the seasons shift.

For me, I’ve always loved evolving with each new season — picking up new hobbies or returning to old ones, creating fresh routines, and finding ways to support my mindset and gratitude, even through seasons that aren’t necessarily my favorite. So because of that, I’ve created my autumn essentials guide. Complied of the things that keep me indulged, grounded, and feeling special through this fall season.

A Nourishing Hand Cream

L’Occitane en Provence is undoubetly one of my favorite skincare brands. Their signature shea butter hand cream is extremely rich and nourishing, and it’s the hand cream I swear by seasonally, but especially in the fall.

My hands get naturally drier as the weather cools, and with all the handwashing and sanitizer, they need extra love. Applying this cream leaves them soft without feeling greasy, and the scent is subtle, elegant, and comforting. I always keep one in my bag so I can give my hands the nourishment they deserve, even when I’m on the go.

A Signature Fall Drink

For me, Chai Tea Lattes have become a personality trait at this point. I’ve been drinking them for over ten years now. But lately, jasmine tea has also been such a calming favorite. Having a signature tea or drink this fall can make even the coldest days feel a bit cozier.

A Good Read

Fall is reading season. Choose something atmospheric, warm, or full of depth — something that encourages you to curl up with a blanket and get lost for a moment.

I’m currently reading Dare to Lead by Brené Brown, a powerful book centered on leadership, courage, and developing a compassionate, confident mindset. It’s been perfect for this season of growth, reflection, and transformation.

A Comfort Show or Podcast

I’m definitely a series rewatcher. It’s a running joke that no matter how many new shows I am recommended to watch, I always end up rewatching Sex and the City. Maybe it’s because I live in New York now, or maybe it’s simply because it’s my favorite comfort show. Either way, I always find it full of little moments that resonate with me as I grow, hence the beginning quote.

Alongside comfort shows, I’ve also been loving podcasts lately. Right now I’m loving “Aspire” with Emma Grede. She is such an inspiring host — a true boss woman — and every episode feels like a motivational reset. The conversations around shifting your mindset, elevating your finances, embracing entrepreneurship, and hearing other women’s stories of growth have been so inspirational. It’s powerful, encouraging, and exactly the kind of energy I love during this season.

A Signature Fall Scent

By the Fireplace by Maison Margiela is truly fall in a bottle — smoky, warm, sweet, and cozy. It smells like roasted chestnuts, soft cashmere blankets, and a crackling fireplace all melted into one comforting, elegant blend. It lingers in the softest way and instantly makes you feel effortlessly put together.

It’s without question my signature scent this season.

A Staple Sweater

Nothing defines fall more than the perfect sweater.

If I could wash and rewear my favorite one every single day, I would — but since that isn’t realistic, I’ve built a little rotation of timeless, ultra-soft sweaters I can reach for throughout the week.

A good sweater is the anchor of a fall wardrobe. Something you can dress up for brunch, cozy up in at home, or pair with leggings for a chilly morning walk. It’s simple, comfortable, and can make you feel your best and coziest.

A Candlelit Comfort

My apartment never truly feels complete unless there’s a candle lit. Whether it’s burning all day or providing a soft glow at night, it adds warmth, comfort, and a beautiful scent that fills the room. It’s a small but mighty ritual that adds intention and softness to my space every single day.

 A Romanticized Fall

These are my go-tos — the rituals and little luxuries that make fall feel magical, intentional, and full of softness. From cozy scents to grounding routines, fall is truly the season to bask in slowing down and embracing the beauty in so many things.

And as you explore this season for yourself, I encourage you to create your own fall “menu” of joy — the rituals and comforts that make you feel grounded, inspired, and at home within yourself. Build it slowly, tweak it as the weeks go by, and let it be something that brings joy, warmth, and meaning to your everyday life.

Fall is a season of transition, but it’s also a season of creating. So create something soft, cozy, and special.

Morgs
